Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Sifter, operated by Yehia Abdelmohsen (“Sifter,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the Sifter app and website.

Sifter helps you review your camera roll on your device. We do not upload your photos to our servers, use them for advertising, or train models with them. We do not sell personal information.

Information We Handle

Sifter does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or contact list. The app handles the photos you choose to make available through iOS, along with basic library metadata needed to display and organize them.

Photo identifiers, keep-or-delete choices, your review position, onboarding progress, and appearance preference are stored locally on your device.

Your Photo Library

You control whether Sifter receives full or limited access to your photo library through iOS. Sifter reads the photos you permit so it can show them for review. The app does not upload your photos or videos to a Sifter-operated server.

If an original is stored in iCloud Photos, iOS may download it from Apple so Sifter can display it. When you confirm a deletion, Sifter asks Apple’s Photos framework to delete the selected items. Deletions may sync to your other devices through iCloud Photos and remain recoverable in Recently Deleted according to Apple’s policies.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. Sifter uses RevenueCat to load available plans, confirm entitlements, and restore purchases. Apple and RevenueCat may process transaction and entitlement details, an anonymous app-user identifier, and limited app or device technical information for those purposes. Sifter does not receive your full payment-card details.

Their handling of information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy and RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Website Data

This website does not use advertising or analytics trackers. Our hosting provider may temporarily process standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp, to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep it secure.

Your Choices

You can change or revoke photo access at any time in iOS Settings, use limited photo access to choose only the items Sifter may see, and undo review choices before confirming a deletion. Deleting the app removes locally stored Sifter preferences and review progress.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us if you want to ask about or exercise those rights.

Retention and Security

Review progress and app preferences remain on your device until you change them, reset them, or delete the app. Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records according to their own policies and legal obligations. Hosting security logs, if created, are kept according to our provider’s operational retention settings.

We limit the information Sifter handles and rely on the security protections provided by iOS and our service providers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Children

Sifter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when Sifter changes or when required by law. We will post the revised policy here and update the date at the top of this page.
